EU Just Transition Fund – The purchase of E-Bikes, E-Pedal Boats and Touring Kayaks in Category 1: Development or Enhancement of Sustainable Visitor Experiences
Baysports is enhancing and developing its visitor offering by diversifying its range of sustainable outdoor activities and introducing new equipment that will improve accessibility to the greenways and blue ways around the Athlone area. The project involves the purchase of Electric Pedal Boats, Electric Bicycles, and a new fleet of Double and Single Touring Kayaks. These new products will provide visitors with increased opportunities to explore the local waterways and surrounding area in an environmentally friendly and active way.
The project aims to broaden and enhance the sustainable visitor experience available through Baysports, encourage greater access to the greenways and blue ways in the Athlone area, and provide visitors with a wider choice of low-impact recreational activities. The investment will result in an expanded range of sustainable visitor experiences, improved accessibility for customers, and enhanced opportunities to explore the natural environment by electric bike, electric pedal boat and kayak.
