The Transition Year adventure programmes have been developed with education and enjoyment for the student in mind.

The programmes educate young people about the potential uses which our natural resources afford us; specifically Hodson Bay, Lough Ree and the River Shannon.

A broad spectrum of water sport disciplines, from dinghy sailing, kayaking and raft building to power-boating, , will be available for your transition year students to engage in and sample.

Each activity will pose a unique challenge which will mobilize a spirit of cooperation and teamwork within the transition year class.

The challenges will also afford students the opportunity to gain knowledge, skills and learn key aspects about boating, water safety and other activities. While students are brought further into the exciting, rewarding world of Ireland’s nature and environment and the world of water sports, the programmes will be pleasant, stress free and memorable for the teachers.

Dinghy Sailing

Students will be introduced to the rudiments of sailing aboard our fleet of Topaz, Topper and Pico dinghies.

Kayaks

Students will be introduced to basic paddling strokes, expedition recovery and fun manoeuvres aboard our sit-on-top kayaks.

Powerboating
